OUR STORY

Dogwood Construction was started in 2012 by General Contractor David Hopkins and his wife Carole Ann. A native of Georgia, David grew up competitively riding cutting horses with his family. A legacy builder, he built barns throughout the Southeast with his father from a very young age. His involvement in the equestrian community throughout his life has equipped him with the experience to truly understand the needs of his customers, while allowing him to build to the highest standards.

While David’s primary focus is building custom homes and equestrian estates, Carole Ann focuses on the design aspects for the company. Growing up in Aiken, Carole Ann, always respected the charm and history of the southern, equestrian city.  From layouts and floor plans for custom construction, to decorating and styling new homes and renovations, adding charm while preserving character is her goal. The two were married in a custom barn David built in Aiken County, and so began the beginnings of Dogwood Construction.

Dogwood Construction was named after their first home which was located on Dogwood Road in Aiken, SC. With three young children, they know the importance of family, and strive to create a family friendly, stress free building experience for all customers.
